The Cyprus Financial Literacy and Education Committee (CyFLEC) is pleased to announce the launch of moneypedia.cy, Cyprus’s new national digital financial literacy portal.
The creation of moneypedia.cy is one of the flagship initiatives of the National Strategy for Financial Literacy and Financial Education in Cyprus and marks an important step forward in empowering citizens through knowledge. For the first time in Cyprus, an integrated digital platform provides reliable, evidence-based and easily accessible information to help people make informed financial decisions at every stage of life.
Financial decisions affect everyone, from budgeting and saving to borrowing, investing, insurance and retirement planning. moneypedia.cy has been designed to serve as a trusted guide for all citizens, regardless of age or level of financial knowledge, including students, young people, families, employees, entrepreneurs and pensioners.
What the platform offers
Through a modern and user-friendly environment, moneypedia.cy provides:
- Clear explanations of key financial concepts
- Practical guidance on budgeting, saving, investing, borrowing, insurance and pensions
- Financial calculators and decision-support tools
- Educational videos and interactive quizzes
- Content tailored to different age groups and life stages

A name chosen by citizens
The name moneypedia emerged through a participatory evaluation process involving students, university students, educators, academics and members of CyFLEC. Participants considered the name to be concise, user-friendly and engaging, while clearly reflecting the website’s purpose as a trusted source of financial knowledge and education.
A collaborative European initiative
The development of the platform was funded by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Structural Reform Support (DG REFORM), in cooperation with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). The funding was secured by the Central Bank of Cyprus through the Ministry of Finance and supported the implementation of three initiatives under the National Strategy for Financial Literacy and Financial Education.
The project was coordinated by CyFLEC’s Coordination and Management Team, while the portal’s content was further enriched through the contributions of CyFLEC Board members and academic partners.
A platform that will continue to evolve
moneypedia.cy is not a static website but a dynamic digital platform that will be continuously enriched with new content, tools, announcements, educational materials and practical guides. Its goal is to become Cyprus’s primary reference point for financial literacy and a digital destination that citizens return to regularly for information, learning and practical guidance.
