A New Resource for Understanding Statistics

The Central Bank of Cyprus has launched “Statistics Explained”, a new online section designed to enhance statistical literacy and make statistical information more accessible to the public.

The initiative explains key concepts and terminology related to monetary and financial statistics, government finance,and external statistics in clear, straightforward language. The content is based on educational material developed by the European Central Bank (ECB) and made available through the ECB Data Portal, which has been adapted and translated into Greek by the Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC).

By simplifying complex statistical concepts and data, Statistics Explained (available at the CBC website in Greek only) helps citizens better understand official statistics and supports informed decision-making based on reliable information.
